If you've never heard of screen printing (or silkscreen printing), it's one of the oldest and most popular printing method. Stencils are made using a fine mesh on a frame, and the ink is pushed through the mesh onto the fabric with a squeegee. The ink goes directly on the fabric, for a nice feel and long durability.
Instead of using regular inks, we can use metal / shimmery inks to give a special effect to your prints. Those inks are best used on Spot Color screen prints, the thick solid graphics makes the best use of the shine. Due to limited supplies of the metal base ink and the need to import it, we currently limit the metal inks to Gold and Silver colors.
Depending on the print, we might use either Water-based or Plastisol inks. For water-based inks we use Matsui inks, and for Plastisol we use Wilfex and International Coatings, imported from Japan and the USA.
- In most cases, only one special ink to be used per print
If you're doing a multicolor screen print with one of the colors being metal ink, add 5RMB per print.
